Is aluminum a sustainable?
-
Aluminium is strong and highly malleable, as well as being is one of the most plentiful resources on this planet.
Aluminium is one of the most environmentally friendly metals on earth, which is part of what makes this metal the most abundant metal element in the earth's crust.
Aluminium is called the green metal because it is a very environmentally friendly metal. Recycling this material saves 95% of the energy required to produce aluminium from raw materials. This means it plays a key role in human ecology.
Can aluminium be 100% recycled?
-
Aluminium is an infinitely recyclable material, and it takes up to 95 percent less energy to recycle it than to produce primary aluminum, which also limits emissions, including greenhouse gases. Today, about 75 percent of all aluminum produced in history, nearly a billion tons, is still in use.
Can aluminum be infinitely recycled?
-
Aluminum is such an infinitely recyclable material that 75% of all aluminum produced since the dawn of the industrial revolution—more than 100 years ago—is still in use today.
Will the stretchers oxidise after time?
-
We have meticulously powder coated all aluminium profiles, providing a smooth and refined finish, while also safeguarding the aluminum against oxidation.
Why would I use Aluminium over wood?
-
Using wooden stretchers unlike aluminium, variations in heat, moisture levels (outdoors, or in tropical/cold climates) affect the tolerances for movement.
Aluminium stretchers will maintain their integrity through adverse conditions and have a high degree of resistence to corrosion.
How are these different to other Aluminium designs on the market?
-
It's taken 18 months to solve a number of issues whilst creating a design which is different to what the market already has.
These are the only strethers which are designed and made in Australia whilst also no wood elements are used in any part of the stretcher unlike other designs in Europe and North America.
What is the depth of the profile and how can I staple into the aluminium?
-
Depth of the profile is 4cm x 6cm.
Staples are not stapled directly into the aluminium but rather a resin/plastic strip which slides into the back of the bespoke aluminium profile. This strip not only takes the staples very easily but always has a firm hold so they don't fall out.
The strip is reusable and can be replaced at anytime.
Do you sell direct to Artists?

HOW TO ASSEMBLE A 32mm Cross brace stretcher
32mm Aluminium Stretchers
advantages
Al Aluminum Stretchers are designed and made here in Sydney. The Stretchers offer advantages in the following situations:
- Where large canvases need to be stretched Where exposure to large variations in heat and moisture levels exist (outdoors, or in tropical/cold climates)
- Where tolerances for movement within the stretcher frame are very smallWhere fire code regulations make the use of wood stretchers unacceptable.
- Where artists wish to keep a "Main Stretcher" for painting which will stand up to repeated reuse.
- When shipping paintings overseas there is no FSC or paperwork needed for customs as these don't carry any wood in the design.
